Benefits
6-year aged Xinhui chenpi (whole peel). Made from whole Xinhui mandarin peel, sun-dried and naturally aged for 6 years. Thick peel with a clean, lasting aroma. The whole-peel form preserves the natural texture — brew whole or snip into pieces. Produces a bright amber infusion with a mellow, sweet finish.
Storage
- Store in a dry, ventilated, cool place away from direct sunlight to prevent moisture, mold, and insects.
- Keep in an airtight container or sealed bag, removing excess air to reduce oxidation and prevent odor absorption.
- Air out periodically, especially in humid seasons, to stay dry and extend shelf life. Chenpi gets better with age when stored properly.
How to Use
- Tea: Steep 3-5g in boiling water for 10-15 minutes. Re-steep multiple times. Good for daily wellness and digestion.
- Cooking: A classic seasoning for braised pork, soups, and steamed fish. Add 2-3g when braising to cut gaminess; 3-5g per pot of soup for depth.
- Desserts: Use in chenpi cakes, red bean desserts, and more for a unique citrus aroma.
Precautions
- Chenpi is warming; those with excess internal heat, yin-deficiency dry cough, or red tongue with little coating should use with caution.
- Use in moderation; overuse may cause internal heat symptoms such as dry mouth.
